The
Bushman brand, famous for producing fine ukuleles and harmonicas, was
created in January, 1996 by John Hall. In order to better serve
musicians who were ordering ukes from Bushman Music Works, Hall
launched Jumpingflea.com in May 2003. The name Jumping Flea comes
from the Hawaiian word ukulele: uku - flea, lele - to jump. Although
the site achieved instant success at generating ukulele sales, the
love and respect it now enjoys among uke players came with the
introduction of the Bushman
Jenny in October 2004.
In
November 2005, Gary Rogers of Arcata, California, armed with
enthusiasm, a ton of shipping experience, a great smile, and a heart
to serve ukulele players became the owner of Jumping Flea. Second
only to Hawaii as the leading state for uke sales, California is the
perfect location from which to ship ukuleles. And to better serve USA
customers who live east of the Mississippi river, Gary set-up a
shipping warehouse in Indiana. |
